At the present, N96 rumor said that it will be added with a xenon flash, but the fact is Nokia N96 doesn’t have it. The Nokia N96 has four flashes, two Light Emitting Diode flashes, plus two argon flashes.

Gadget magaqzine Stuff.tv has posted their preview of Nokia N96. As Stuff said, for smartphone fans in 2007 there was only one handset worthy of the name: Nokia’s N95. With a feature list longer than most gadget’s manuals, it made other mobiles seem about as smart as Trigger. But now a successor, the N96, has arrived – and somehow added to its CV.
A bigger brain
The N96’s big improvement is capacity. Not only does it have 16GB of internal memory, there’s also a microSDHC slot instead of its predecessor’s microSD number. With cards currently going up to 8GB, this means you can boost capacity to 24GB (enough for about 18,000 low-quality songs) for an extra £40.
With a slightly larger 2.8in QVGA display and a new kickstand for hands-free viewing, the N96 is also better equipped to act as an Archos-style video player, particularly as its wide format support includes MP4, WMV and Flash. Also new is a built-in DVB-H receiver, although this will be next to useless in the UK until the analogue switch-off in 2012.
For people that love the N95 8GB, the new Nokia N96 is probably going to cause them to drool uncontollably. “Answer: Instead of putting in a bigger battery than the N95, we optimized power usage of key functions, in particular those related to multimedia and entertainment. For example, video playback time is up to 5 hours and music playback time is up to 14 hours, which we achieved through hardware accelerators and other optimizations.”
- How much of N95 & N95 8GB user feedback has been taken into consideration when developing the N96?
“Answer: When we develop new products, we base our decisions on a lot of research, focus groups and feedback from users of earlier products. We also test design alternatives with users and get their input. We started development of the N96 when the some of the earlier products had just come to market. So we followed the acceptance of those very closely and tried as much as possible to take learnings from those into account.”

Brighthand has posted great first thoughts preview of Nokia N96. Like its predecessor (N95), the upcoming smartphone’s two-way slider concept will make it easy to switch between different modes. A numeric keypad slides out from one end of the device while dedicated media keys can slide out from the opposite direction.
Nokia is emphasizing this smartphone’s ability to play video on its 2.8-inch, QVGA display. These can be in MPEG-4, Windows Media Video, and Flash Video formats.
To play music, this device will feature dedicated media keys, a 3.5 mm headphone connector, and built-in 3D stereo speakers.
The Nokia N96 will sport a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, flash and video light. It will allow DVD-like quality video capture at 30 frames per second. With the integrated A-GPS, users will be able to ‘geotag’ their pictures with location data and share them with online communities.
